Article 4

Ernst Haberbier (1813 – 1869) was a German pianist, composer and teacher. He was active in St. Petersburg, toured Europe until 1866, and then settled in Norway.

His compositions, all for piano, consist of virtuoso and didactic pieces.

From David Dubal we learn:

Haberbier in his compositions had a method of dividing the most intricate passages between the two hands, thus attaining great speed. His audiences were always delighted with his talent. Haberbier died during a recital.⁽¹⁾
